Kenn has agreed to answer a few questions for his readers today.Thank you Kenn.

1.) What or who inspired you to write?  And how long have you been writing?

It was a little of both. I loved reading Sci-fi and Fantasy novels as a kid, and I guess that spurred me to write my own stories. The “who” would be some of my favorite authors, both then and now. I started writing in High School, which seems like a life time ago, though at the time it was mostly for “me”. I started again while in the Navy and even completed a Fantasy novel, though I was naive and sent it to a self-publishing house and never saw it again. My latest foray into the writing world began just a little over 3 years ago.

2.) Some writers find they plot their novels then write them they are known as plotters others just  write as the ideas come and are known as pantsers. Which are you or are you a bit if both?

With the Kelli Storm series, I had all three books plotted out in my head before I started writing. With Storm Rising, I did a rough outline and then my research. I did a bio for Kelli, her mother and her partner. Of course as the story progressed, Kelli took more control and of course I had to follow. With book two I did the bios and a skeletal outline, but it’s mostly by the seat of my pants.

3.) As a writer do you find yourself trying to put yourself into your character’s mind?

Always. Though lately it seems more like Kelli is the one putting herself into my mind.

4.) Who are your favourite authors?

Tough question simply because there are so many. If I have to narrow it down, then I have to go with David Baldacci, John Grisham, and Tom Clancy. Among my favorite Indies, I have to say that Everett Powers, Carolyn Arnold and Steve Umstead.

5.) What can you tell us about your books ?

This first book in the series introduces Kelli and the people in her immediate life. It delves into both her professional and personal life, and how she deals with the conflicts that arise in both.

Here is the blurb for Storm Rising, the first book in the Kelli Storm series.

When a murder investigation turns Detective Kelli Storm’s attention to a drug kingpin, the last thing she expected was to find a link to her father’s killer from twenty years earlier. Detectives Kelli Storm and Bill Hayes are investigating multiple homicides in New York City’s Washington Heights neighborhood. After a young woman is murdered, Kelli tracks the killer to a Gentleman’s Club in Manhattan. There she locates an unwilling witness. When the woman is assaulted and left dying, the investigation takes a new twist. The DEA steps in and takes over, forcing Kelli off the case. Kelli decides to take a different approach. Working behind the scenes, she pulls out one of her father’s old case files and finds a connection between the killer and his murder.

6.) What are you writing now? Is there a sequel to Storm Rising?
I am currently working on the second book in the Kelli Storm series, Storm Warning. I have set a deadline for myself to have the it available by Spring of 2012. The third book in the series, Eye of the Storm is slated for Fall/Winter 2012.
